For many people who claim to really want to lose weight success is very elusive. Maybe because they do not have a proven weight loss program. Maybe they lose motivation as they do not find the initial success that they seek which causes them to give up. Maybe they have gone from weight loss pill to diet plan after diet plan and have never had success. To truly achieve success if you really want to lose weight you must start with a proven weight loss program and be motivated to follow through.

Successful weight loss is not something new.  There have been millions of people to lose weight and keep it off. The problem is that there are many more who have not been successful. There are basic precepts to help you achieve your weight loss goals and I will list here what is necessary to effectively and safely lose weight.

  • Step 1:  Motivation- You must be properly motivated to start and complete the journey you will go on that will cause you to change your lifestyle. There are small changes and some dramatic changes that we must make.  If you are serious and motivated you will succeed.
  • Step 2:  Set Goals- Your weight loss goals should be reasonable, attainable and sustainable. If you weigh 300 pounds and you want to lose 100 pounds in 2 months that goal is neither reasonable or attainable. If you wanted to lose 50 pounds in that two months it may be attainable but it probably is not reasonable or sustainable. You can safely and realistically lose 2-3 pounds a week and keep it off.  Many people may be able to do more initially, but I would not program that in at the outset of your weight loss journey. So a safe realistic, attainable and sustainable goal will be to lose 15 to 25 pounds in two months. You can and should adjust your goals as you go along.
  • Step 3:  Establish Your Starting Point- This is more than weighing yourself. The key is to know what your current habits are. You need to know how much you eat, what you eat, how often you eat and what time of day and intervals between meals. You also need to know what you drink and how much you drink what you drink. The same is true for exercise, sleep, and how much fresh air and sunlight you get.  All these factors are important to your weight loss as well as your overall health. So to establish a comprehensive successful weight loss plan you must establish your starting point and make changes from there. If you were to establish a monthly budget you would start off by writing down all of your income and expenses and tracking them for a month. Then you would adjust your spending habits accordingly. This is the same process to achieve successful weight loss.
  • Step 4:  Eat a Healthy Diet- This starts by eating to lose weight. Eat 5 to 6 meals per day. They must be smaller portions and you must start your day with breakfast. Eat every 2- 3 hours breakfast, morning snack, lite lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, evening snack. Your meals should be high fiber and low fat. Our diets should be 80% to 90% fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans and herbs. That leaves maybe 10% for meat and deserts etc. If you can avoid red meat and eat fish, chicken and turkey. Stay away from soda and sugar. Limit your salt intake and you are on the way to a healthy diet that will help you lose weight and is essential for a successful weight loss program. The diets we have now are lacking all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that we need for our optimal health. If you really want to lose weight and be in the best health safe effective natural nutritional supplements are important to your weight loss plan.
  • Step 6  Natural Nutritional Supplements- To start your weight loss program I always recommend you use a Herbal Cleanse to clean the toxic waste from your whole body.   • Step 7:  Regular Exercise- No weight loss program is effective without regular exercise. To effectively lose weight you must consume less calories than you burn. Or more to the point you must burn more fat than you consume. Weight Loss is all about burning fat. Excess weight is really stored fat that our bodies do not burn. So first we take in less fat and then we burn more. Or metabolism dictates the fat that we will burn. As you build muscle mass your body burns fat even when you are not working out. So regular exercise is essential to lose weight. Regular exercise includes aerobic and resistance training. Yes you will lose weight by walking, jogging, riding a bike, dancing or any aerobic activity. But to really burn fat we must also do resistance training. That means using our muscles. Sure we generally think of lifting weights but we can mow the lawn, work in the garden, swim, or a number of physical activities that calls to task our muscles. We should do 150 minutes a week of medium intensity aerobic exercise and 90 minutes a week of resistance exercise. If you increase the intensity of your exercise you can reduce the time necessary to meet minimum regular exercise requirements for weight loss. Remember, there is no benefit to over doing it. Go at your own pace.

Now there other elements of a successful weight loss program but here you have the basics necessary for your success. If you really want to lose weight consider a weight loss coach. Consider working with someone who can direct you to eat a healthy diet, take the proper nutritional supplementation and do the proper exercise for your successful weight loss program. You can lose weight. You must choose to change and Do It, Now.
