My 3 Day Fruit Fast.
The objective of this 3 day fruit fast was to cleanse my body, build it up with regular physical exercise as I build up and cleanse my spirit with prayer and devotion. Today was a good day because I continue the fruit fast on this the third day, though my exercise routine was a little off. But, the best part of the day was my devotion.
Eating a healthy diet is an essential part of my healthy weight loss program. Regular exercise, fasting and prayer are also. As I focus on God my mind is set at peace and any focus on the anxieties of life is removed and I am therefore free of stress to pursue the things God has called me to pursue. During these three days I have set my self to exercise everyday, both cardio and resistance, and I have committed time to devotion. This is my healthy weight loss program.
Day 3
Early Morning (5:30 -8:30):
Water: I got up really late today. Started at 6:30 am instead of 5:30 am. I had 2.5 glasses of water by 8:30
Fruit: I had a banana and a serving cantaloupe.
Exercise: One set of push-ups (50 total), 33 minutes on the the elliptical machine. My objective is this morning was to get some cardio in even though I did not have time for my intended 60 minutes. I burned 600 calories.
Devotion: Today was also a reading day. I read Proverbs:23-25 again. Prayer! Devotion ran about 15 minutes this morning.
Mid-Morning (8:30 – 11:30):
Water: 2 glasses of water and 1 cup of green tea.
Fruit: 1 serving each of grapes, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. Berries and grapes are normally for energy and both are good antioxidants. Berries are the top antioxidant category of all fruit and vegetables.
Exercise: 1 mile walk to my office.
Devotion: I teach a bible study class on Thursday nights so I meditated on the scripture for the evening; Proverbs 23-25
My prayer is for my boys in college. I have 2 sons and 2 nephews and 1 cousin in college. I pray that God keeps them, protects them and that they stay focused on the reason they are there. I pray that in the mist of an evil world they can seek God and maintain a relationship with him.
