Do you want to lose weight? Have you considered a weight loss coach? Maybe you need to know more about what a coach is and does before you would consider hiring one. So I will explain what a coach does and you can determine if they can help you meet your weight loss goals.
What is a Coach.
A coach does a number of things and quite often people believe success or failure is dependent on the coach. Yes a coach can have an influence on the outcome of the “game” but the coach does not play the game. The player must execute and if they do the coach, player and whole team looks good. So this is what a coach does. A coach analyzes, prepares, strategizes, motivates, analyzes and strategizes. Let’s look at this in more depth.
The Coach Analyzes.
If losing weight is the goal, the coach must analyze “the player(s)” and determine what they are doing now and why they are not successful at losing weight now. The coach analyzes what the player eats and drinks (the diet), the players work out routine (the exercise) and what nutritional vitamin supplementation the player is using. The analysis will help the coach to strategize and come up with a healthy weight loss program.
The Coach Strategizes.
After the weight loss coach has evaluated the players diet, exercise and supplements they are now in a position to put together a game plan. Most coaches have a specific plan of attack but a good coach would modify it to meet the player he is coaching. So once the coach determines strengths and weaknesses they present a plan the should help the player succeed.
The Coach Motivates.
For anyone to be successful at anything they must be motivated. The coach needs to find out what motivates his player. The coach can not create motivation that does not exist. The coach can only present and remind the player of what really motivates them. There are many tactics both positive and negative but for the coach to truly motivate someone they are only reminding them why they what to achieve their goals. It is not the coaches goals that are important it is the goals of the player that the coach must access to help them reach their goals.
The Coach Analyzes.
After the coach analyzes the player then strategizes to prepare a plan for the player and motivates the player, the player must execute the game plan. Success or failure is based on the execution of the plan by the player. Based on the what the player does the coach must re-evaluate the player, the game plan and the motivation. This re-evaluation will determine how the coach coaches the player going forward. This is a continual job of the coach to evaluate, plan and motivate.
The Coach Stategizes Again.
Now it is time to tweak the plan, tweak the motivation and tweak the execution by the player. This tweaking is only to help the player be more successful. Ultimately the player must execute. Ultimately the player must follow through. Ultimately the player must be self motivated, because external motivation is only temporary.
Can a Weight Loss Coach Help You?
If you are truly motivated to lose weight and are coachable a healthy weight loss coach can and will help you achieve your weight loss goals. But you must remember that you must execute the weight loss program that the coach presents. If you follow through and execute the coach can and will help you achieve your weight loss goals.
