Kevin,
It is good that you question where in the bible God said whatever someone proclaims he said. For your edification read Genesis 1:29 he specifically says what he gave us as food. That is what grows from the ground. This was not a commandment but how we were created. As such when we sinned and and began on our own journey we neglect the word of God and create what we think is best. It is interesting that the first thing man begins to eat when he wants to truly be healthy is fruit and vegetables. It is interesting that antioxidants (God's Natural Healing Power) are only found in what grows from the ground. It is interesting that medicines that heal all come from the ground and nothing comes from eating animals.

Also it is good that if you choose to eat meat to choose only lean meat. Yes that is better than fatty meats. As such someone who gives up worse for better will do better. But the best is in what comes from the ground.

One final point. Nuts and Legunes (beans) represent the highest and best source of protein. We have been raised as a culture to be meat eaters. As a culture we defend this practice. As a culture we err by not putting God's Word first in our lives.

God Bless you Brother and keep seeking the truth.

PS I eat lean meat and fish as well.

Where in the bible does it say God intended for us to be vegetarians. I like my steak lean and rare. Our bodies is Gods temple and we are obligated to take care of our bodies - ave read that but where "exactly" does it say we were “meant” to be vegetarian?

Six years ago I dropped 25 pounds a have kept it off since. Nut, Berries, vegetable, and organic dairy products are key components to my healthy diet - but so are lean meats. Good eating habits include good quality proteins. There is no higher quality protein IMO than fish and lean meats like fillet mignon, white turkey meat, and wild salmon.

Vegetarian is good and heaven knows most of us need more vegetables in our diets but it is far far more difficult to get a balanced diet "without" than "with" lean meats. Lean meats are very best source of protein and nothing quite replaces that source with all due respect to nuts, legumes and whey powder. Balancing your essential amino acids is a chore meat eater don't need to do. I do not believe God intend us to add up amino acids.

As an obvious aside, a rack of baby back ribs, prime rib, chicken fingers or deep fried fish do not qualify as lean meats.
