Plateau at My Weight Loss Program
I have heard many people claim they stick to the same weight loss and a regular exercise program. But at some point they stop losing weight. In reality most people hit a plateau eventually. Know that the plateau is coming. Expect the plateau! Be prepared for the plateau. Approach it positively instead of getting frustrated or thinking you have done something wrong and you will not lose any more weight. This negative attitude would be detrimental to your healthy diet plan and can be detrimental to your goal. Your mindset is 90% of the battle to your healthy weight loss program.
Plateau Happens.
- Starvation diets lead quickly to plateau. Your body will adapt protect you against starvation. You must continue eating less and burning more calories to maintain your new weight. Create a solid base: diet plan, exercise, nutritional vitamin supplements and motivation. Once you hit the plateau do not stop. The positive results you seek will come.
- Understand that after you lose some weight, your hormones start to work in different directions. Ghrelin, the hormone responsible for stimulating appetite, increases. While the fullness hormone, Amylin, also increases. Your body may be a bit confused but it is imperative that you stick to your weight loss program.
- You may also notice that as you continue your plan you may still manage to stop losing weight. The common causes can be negative emotions, change of routine or stress. Sometimes your friends can be your enemies. They will take you out to eat junk foods or have you miss your daily work out. Make losing weight the top priority for you. Keep focused on your weight loss goal. Write down the benefits of your plan and review them daily.
- Television may be another reason for not losing weight. Watching television equals very little movement and quite often too much snacking. Try to get some light exercise during TV commercials. And definitely, avoid eating while watching television! That habit kills a many diets.
- Your work may even be a hinderance to your weight loss program. You may be spending hours in front of your computer while working. If you are not moving the sedentary daily rituals of our jobs are not how your body was designed to function. Constantly remind yourself to stretch and move as much as possible throughout the day. Take frequent breaks of a minute or two to walk. If you can practice chair exercises daily. Another simple solution is to start your day with a work out and /or exercise during your lunch break. A brisk walk is the best thing to get your juices flowing and clear your mind.
Keep in mind that a successful healthy weight loss program is all about commitment, motivation, attitude, patience and action. This is not rocket science. Don’t make it more complicated than it has to be. Eat less, stick to healthy eating habits, exercise regularly and take natural nutritional vitamin supplements. Focus on your weight loss goals, write down the benefits and think about them every day. Losing weight should be a top priority for you. Otherwise, you will stop losing weight, you won’t be able to maintain your new weight, you won’t be able to get over the first plateau!
Yes you can do it! You Can Meet Your Weight Loss Goal.
