The Silent Killer.

Some people say that high blood pressure is the silent killer. And it is. High blood pressure is a leading cause of death by heart disease. Heart disease is by far the leading cause of all deaths in America. But what causes High blood pressure? You can avoid heart disease.

The number of people developing diabetes is growing faster than any other disease in history. There are 80,000,000 (80 million) Americans that are borderline diabetic. This disease is in the the third or fourth leading cause of death in America and it may soon overtake those ahead of it. You can avoid diabetes.

Cancer, the big “C”, is number two when it comes to death by disease. It is the most feared disease because of it literally eats away your body. You can avoid cancer.

But these diseases and many others have something in common, Sugar and Obesity. Avoid them to live a healthy lifestyle.

Eat a Healthy Diet.

Over 6 million Americans can soon develop type 2 diabetes without knowing it. Millions have hypertension without knowing it. While cancer can eat away your insides for years before you are aware. But there is a simple prevention and even cure for all of these. Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Avoid the whites. White sugar, white flour, white bread, white rice, etc. These all convert to sugar instantly in our bodies providing no nutritional value and ending up as excess fat. They all work against your body causing you to gain weight,  tear down your immune system, reducing the numbers of white blood cells and making you susceptible to a multitude of diseases include heart disease, hypertension, cancer and diabetes. The average person eats over 150 pounds of sugar annually. Sometimes knowingly but quite often without knowing what we are doing. Most people do not know how much sugar is in processed foods, nor do they know the effects. If a person drinks 1 can of soda a daily they are 83% more likely to develop type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is developed because you eat poorly and do not exercise. That same 12 ounce cane of soda has the equivalent of 10 spoons of sugar in it.

Exercise Regularly.

Other than eating a healthy diet avoiding sugar we need to exercise everyday. Both cardio exercise and strength training are necessary. Aerobic training helps strengthen your heart while strength training builds muscle helping you to burn fat. The more excess fat you have the more you are likely to develop the deadly diseases. Excess belly fat causes your body to stop producing insulin and therefore makes you diabetic. Type 2 diabetes is 100% avoidable, preventable and curable by a healthy diet and regular exercise. The risks of heart disease and cancer are greatly reduced as well. But as long as you continue to eat the excess sugar and refuse to exercise you are killing yourself.

Live a Healthy Lifestyle.

We all can live longer disease free lives by eating right and exercising regularly. Follow these additional tips to live a healthy lifestyle.

  1. Eat fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, nuts and beans. Limit your meat, sugar, sodium and food additives.
  2. Drink Plenty of Water. 60 ounces a day, more if you are overweight or physically active.
  3. Get lots of fresh air and sunshine.
  4. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.
  5. Cleanse your entire body regularly, once every 90 days.
  6. Do cardio exercise everyday.
  7. Regular strength training is very important.

Get Enough Calcium.

The health benefits of calcium are more than most people recognize. Sure calcium is good for strong bones and teeth as it prevents osteoporosis. It is also essential to a healthy weight loss program, reduces the risk of heart disease, fights certain cancers, and even reduces mood swings during PMS. Calcium has so many health benefits that are essential to our body that we can not ignore it in our healthy diet and nutritional vitamin supplements.

Calcium and a Healthy Weight Loss Program.

The recommended daily allowance of calcium is 1000mg. This is necessary for our bodies to recognize that we are getting enough calcium in our system. Otherwise we release hormones that promote the production of fat and make it harder to convert the fat we consume to energy. This happens because our bodies think they are starving. This is one reason why people who exercise regularly and take diet pills do not lose weight. Even when they eat less. Our body goes into starvation mode when we do not get the requisite amount of vitamins and minerals it requires like calcium.

Calcium and a Healthy Heart.

An adeqaute supply of calcium helps your muscles work properly. The heart is a muscle. All muscles work by contracting and relaxing. When we have a shortage of calcium the hormones the body releases react to the muscle walls of the arteries and cause an elevation of blood pressure. It is thought that not enough calcium has as great an effect on our blood pressure as too much sodium. As such a natural way to lower blood pressure is to reduce the intake of sodium and to eat more foods that are low in fat yet rich in calcium. My favorites would be collard greens or broccoli.

Calcium Fights Depression and Mood Swings.

The hormones released when we do not get enough calcium are at it again. When we lack calcium in our system it can effect our emotional state as well as our physical state. Lack of calcium is been found to be a contributing factor for severe premenstrual syndrome mood swings. This is because during menstruation women release calcium and other necessary vitamin and minerals. A simple nutritional vitamin supplement of calcium was found to dramatically eliminate the depression and mood swings of most women during PMS. This is when the calcium is lowest in the body. So we can say that people who get enough calcium generally have pleasing personalities. OK, that might be stretching it a little, but not much.

Calcium Helps Prevent Cancer.

Researchers do not know why this phenomenom is, but it seems that people who have an abundance of calcium tend to not develop polyps that could turn cancererous. It is thought that when the excess calcium binds with cancer promoters in the colon and they are eliminated together reducing the risk of colon cancer. More reason for a high fiber low fat diet rich in calcium. Researchers have found this effect to be the same with nutritional vitamin supplements as well as a calcium rich diet.

Calcium for Healthy Bones and Teeth.

Your mouth may be the first sign of pending osteoporosis. When your body does not get enough calcium it draws it from the bones and your jawbone and teeth are the first to show it. Therefore, calcium is important for everyone, especially young children, women who menstruate, seniors and those of us who want to lose weight. To prevent the weakening of your bones and poor dental hygiene it is imperative that we get enough calcium. Whether through diet or nutritional vitamin supplements.

Calcium is good for your healthy weight loss program, your healthy heart, your emotion health as it fights mood swings, preventing colon cancer, and fighting osteoporosis as well as building healthy teeth. Eat a healthy low fat, high fiber calcium rich diet and supplement your diet with natural nutritional vitamin supplements as necessary.

Be Blessed. Be a Blessing.
